This course is a requirement for anyone operating a boom-type elevating work platform within Australia as specified by Safe Work Australia. This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a boom-type Elevating Work Platform (EWP) where the length of the boom is 11 metres or more in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements.

The course consists of theory & practical training, followed by an assessment day which consists of both written & practical components.

This unit outlines the essential skills and knowledge required to safely operate a boom-type Elevating Work Platform (EWP) with a boom length of 11 meters or more, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislative requirements.

It encompasses four key aspects, including planning for the work or task, preparing for it, performing the work or task, and completing the task by packing up.

Compliance with WHS Regulations: This course aligns with Part 4.5 of the Model Work Health and Safety (WHS) Regulations, meeting HRWL requirements at the Commonwealth, State, and Territory levels. Operators are required to hold a High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) for boom lifts to perform this work.

Appropriate clothing and covered shoes or boots, food and drinks. This course is covered in a face to face learning environment. There are no entry requirements for this qualification.

There are no preparation requirements for this course.

All enrolments are considered tentative until payment has been received. Full course fee must be paid within 48 hours of enrolment.

Upon successful completion participants will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment of TLILIC0005.
